With a peak download speed of 10MBs, It should only take about 20 mins to download. If that stays consistent, I would lose connection 100 times over the entire download. I had to lower the quality to make the file size below the 20MB cap, but it disconnected at 59.41MB of a 6GB download. I attached a video of downloading an update with no bandwidth cap. I have spent hours combing through Verizon's forums (cause Verizon likes customers to help customers and provides little actually tech support).įrom what I can tell, this happens to everyone with the 4g LTE, it started about two years ago after a firmware update, and there's no way rollback to an older firmware. I even tried capping my steam downloads at 500kbps (and set to update only during non-peak hours), and it will still disconnect. It takes about 2-5 mins to boot up, and this happens MULTIPLE times a day. So, every time it disconnects I have to unplug the power cable from the modem and plug it back in. The modem will disconnect from the internet during heavy downloads/usage, and there is no UI at all. Then, while downloading an update through steam, the disconnects started. I was able to stream without interruption at 720, sometimes even 1080! So I switched to Verizon Home LTE (the 4g version) and, at first, was thrilled. I live in the country and was using satellite internet, obviously it sucked! Even at 720p with no other internet usage, I would have to pause and buffer videos multiple times. If anyone has any tips to fix this it would be great, but mostly posting to warn others.
